Privacy policy
Your progress stays on your iPhone

Who I am
Sonivault is developed and published by Thane Jones, an individual developer. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean Thane Jones. You can contact me at support@getsonivault.com.
What the app stores on your iPhone
To remember your progress, Sonivault saves the following in its own storage on your device:
- lessons you've completed and steps you've ticked
- practice sessions and practice history
- your answers to graded exercises, and whether they were right
- the skill self-ratings you enter
- drills you've saved or opened recently
- genre intensive progress and recently viewed genres
- whether you've finished the welcome screens
The app doesn't send this information to me or to anyone else, and I can't see it. Sonivault doesn't ask for your name or email address, and it doesn't request access to your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
If Sonivault can't read its saved progress, it keeps an unchanged recovery copy in the same storage on your device.
Device backups
Depending on your settings, your iPhone may include Sonivault's saved progress when it backs up to iCloud or to a computer. Those backups are managed by you and Apple. I don't have access to them.
Deleting your data
- Reset Progress: on the Learn tab, tap the gear to open Settings, then choose Reset Progress. This erases your saved progress on the device, including any recovery copy.
- Delete the app: deleting Sonivault from your iPhone removes its data from the device. Copies in earlier device backups are kept or removed according to your backup settings.
Apple and optional diagnostics
Sonivault is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles downloads and your Apple Account under Apple's privacy policy.
If you turn on sharing with app developers in your iPhone's Analytics & Improvements settings, Apple may give me crash reports and aggregated usage information about Sonivault. You can turn this off at any time in the same settings. I use this information to understand and fix problems with the app.
TestFlight
If you test a pre-release version of Sonivault through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share some information with me, such as the name and email address you were invited with if you were invited by email, and any feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send. I use it to run the test and fix problems. TestFlight is operated by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
Emailing support
If you email support@getsonivault.com, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it to reply and to look into the problem you report. I don't add you to a mailing list or use your email for marketing.
Email to this address is received and stored by my email provider, Zoho Mail, under Zoho's privacy policy.
I keep support emails for up to 24 months after the last message in a conversation, then delete them. I delete them by hand, not automatically. You can ask me to delete your emails sooner.

Children
Sonivault is a general-audience music education app. It isn't specifically directed at children under 13. The app doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children. If you believe a child under 13 has emailed me, contact me and I'll delete the correspondence.
Your choices and rights
You control the progress the app stores: use Reset Progress or delete the app at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you, such as the right to access, correct or delete it, or to object to how it's used. The only personal data I may hold about you is what you send me by email or share through Apple diagnostics or TestFlight. To make a request, email support@getsonivault.com. You may also be able to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If I change how Sonivault or this website handles information, I'll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
